When people feel hopless and lost.

Hope and Encouragement to others.

I met a beautiful woman today at the grocery store. Genie was shopping with her daughter because she cannot drive. She was lamenting this loss because of macular degeneration. This struck two chords in my heart. One, because I would not want to lose my driving privilege and second because my wife has this disease.

She feels lost and doesn’t want to be a burden. Genie has lost her independence. No one would want to be in such a place. I found myself talking to her for about five minutes. I told her I would pray for her, and I did, while I was walking to my car.

Loading my car with groceries, I heard a customer tell the guy collecting the carts how to do his job. He set her straight. I walked my cart up and gave him a word of encouragement, and he smiled.

We all need encouragement and hope. If we do this for others, just maybe the world would be a better place. Have you encouraged someone recently? Tell us about it.
